West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced a significant salary increase for Anganwadi and Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) workers in the state, effective April 1. This move comes ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and underscores the government's commitment to the welfare of its citizens.

Under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme, Anganwadi helpers, currently earning around Rs 6,000 per month, will receive a monthly raise of Rs 500. Additionally, ASHA and Anganwadi workers will see their remuneration increased by Rs 750 starting April 1.

Banerjee praised the dedication and hard work of these frontline workers, highlighting their invaluable support to the community, especially during challenging times. She emphasized her government's unwavering commitment to stand by the people of West Bengal, stating, "Maa Maati Maanush government shall always be with the people."
